Dreams and Memories
I hover above your bed,
Then - when the time is right
I creep into your dreams.
I am but a whisper
In your mind,
A memory of what was
And is no more,
No longer in the physical
I am but phantom
In your 'now' world
I love how you see me,
As if you can see me.
My portrait, you keep hidden
Within your soul
Is as the young girl
You called your Princess,
Before age and disease
Stripped me of my beauty.
You honor me,
You always honored me,
Even when the sickness
Took my memory.
Such a pleasure thief,
It stole all that was precious
…to me and to you.
You never forsook me,
Even though you never knew
I was aware of your caring.
Your generous and loving heart,
The gentleness of you
Still is imprinted upon my being.
You never left me to battle alone
and I in turn will by no means
…ever leave you.
You are a solitary man of age,
Alone for nearly ten years,
Such a long time…for you
A miniscule moment...for me.
Your time is close at hand,
And I anxiously await
For you to join me
In this Eternal Place
Where we are all royalty.
Soon my dearest…very soon
This Princess will meet her Prince,
Kindred Spirits eternally.
We will live no longer in dreams
But in the sheer beauty
Of a most spiritual reality.
