A Daughter's First Date
She asked her dad how long she had to wait,
until she could go out all alone on a date.
Dad thought a moment, then said, "to tell you true,
I guess when you reach the age of forty-two."
She told that wasn't really what he meant,
and her date wouldn't cost him a cent.
Her sister told her it was such a thrill,
when she first got to go out with Bill.
"Now c'mon dad, please give me a break,
I really would like to go out with Jake."
He finally gave in, but so reluctantly,
she told him, "it will be fine, you will see."
Her dad even agreed that they could use his car,
Jake promised that they wouldn't go too far.
His daughter thought her dad was really neat,
'til she spotted him hiding in the back seat.
