Who is in Control?
The world is filled with violence and hate,
and chaos seems to reign throughout the land.
Good versus evil wars will always rage.
Which forces, then, will gain the upper hand?
Let’s take a deep breath slowly and exhale,
then open wide our eyes and look around.
So many scenes of life will come in view,
where lasting signs of love and joy appear.
The melody of songbirds fill the air,
and patterns of their beauty brush the sky;
the colors of the rainbow come to life,
as skillfully from tree to tree they fly.
The rhythmic tones of church bells as they chime
produce a blend of richness all can hear.
The harmony of a cappella choirs,
so pleasing and appealing to the ear.
A gentle breeze blows through the rustling leaves,
arrays of diamonds sparkle on a lawn.
The setting sun dies slowly in the west,
and comes to life again at break of dawn.
These simple scenes, provided free by God,
can touch our hearts, while nourishing our souls.
This should be proof to all who harbor doubts,
a just and loving God is in control.
