The Winds of War

The winds of war stirred glowing coals
Into flames of World War One.
This was the war to end all wars,
But its goal was left undone.

The winds of war once more fanned coals
Into flames of World War Two.
The world is safe for democracy now,
Twas said, but was not true.

The winds of war are active again.
They are stirring the flames once more
Into a  most possible holocaust, which
The world has seen never before.

This global affair is in rapid approach.
Will this be our new World War Three?
So many fronts on which we must fight.
Just where will our enemy be?

The enemy might be at the wheel of a truck
Driving through a much crowded mall.
He may be awaiting instructions now.
Rest assured, he is always on call.

Training in Syria or perhaps in Iran,
Or once for Sadaam in Iraq,
Where injections of hatred are prepping him for
An inane suicidal attack.

How do we resist such a dark evil force
That feeds from a hatred within?
We must ever be vigilant, always alert
And ne’er be complacent again.

In spite of  the suffering and pain that we feel,
Ask God that our faith will not fail.
Pray for the strength to maintain our resolve
And the goodness of God to prevail.
