These rights, which were endowed by God,
Cannot be altered by decree
It is an undisputed right
That all men were created free.
For men to pursue happiness
Some rules of guidance there should be
To use and not abuse his rights
Requires responsibility
The rules of law are made by man
to set the limits of his rights,
provide a clarity for all,
diffuse the self-awarding blights.
To meet the whims of politics
Their goals are set for selfish needs,
To gain in power and prestige,
accommodating endless greed.
If altering the laws of man
will not suffice to reach their goals,
their tampering with the rules of God
Can scar our nation’s very soul
