SEASONS OF MY HEART
Once I heard laughter in the wind
and saw its light rhythm in the
dancing of the leaves,
As through the tall trees merrily.
It rustled on.
I saw the flower petals opened
by the kiss of morning dew
and heard the birds soft notes,
as they met the day anew.
And when the glowing sun sank slowly
down to rest,
I watched the pale moon appear,
while oer the ocean formed a shining path of silver,
as diamonds sparkled through the sky
This was Spring’s season in my heart,
for I had you
But now the wind in angry bursts
tears through the frightened leaves,
and waves with claps of thunder
break upon the silent beach.
No longer do the flowers bloom,
and birds refuse to sing.
A chill remains within my soul,
a wintry chill that leaves me all alone.
For you have gone, and with you Spring,
and all that’s left within my heart
Is Winter’s sting
