Remember the Pentagon--Lest we Forget

"Remember the Alamo", once people declared,
The "Pueblo", too, and the "Maine".
New slogans may appear for our crisis now.
Not again should we use them in vain.

"Remember the Towers," where once they stood,
Now a void in our greatest city.
"Remember the Pentagon" and we’ll give
Al Qaeda's forces no pity.

Its cancerous tentacles much evil has spread.
Its cells are in uncounted nations.
To prevent the embracing of freedom and faith,
They would deign the demise of creation.

A sharpened scalpel we now must choose,
With a surgeon's skill then employ
To cut out each spot where the tentacles reach,
And its evil completely destroy.

But our moves are encumbered by forces within,
Who hamper the progress we gain.
They plead for the "rights" of the vile, evil horde,
And the enemy's cause they sustain.

Individual "kooks" and some civil rights groups,
And a chorus of bleeding, weak hearts
Pour out of the woodwork, from under the rocks,
To play out their own sleezy parts.

Where are the rights of the innocent dead
And the loved ones that they left behind?
Murdered by fiends in a treacherous plot
Conceived by a Satanic mind.

When a person who heeds the law is wronged,
When justice for victims is due,
No comment will come from the dissident groups
And the likes of the ACLU.
