The Little House on the Prairie
In Texas, if you’re lookin for
a place to sit and ponder,
ask a Texan, he will point
and say, “It’s over yonder.”
You see a shack that sits way back--
a ‘little house on the prairie.”
There’s a half-moon painted on the door,
but pretty? It ain’t very!
But it’s a place to sit awhile,
to think and meditate,
and after leaving there, I swear,
the relief you feel is great.
You will not find some “fancy pants”
holding out a towel for you.
The Sears and Roebuck catalogue
inside will have to do.
However, visitors are very few
who go there just to think,
for it’s only a hardy Texan
who can stand that prairie stink!
