Is Honor a High Priority?
Events that occurred on September Eleven
In the year of two thousand and one
Are events that are etched on the soul of the world,
Events that cannot be undone.
A bond has been formed midst the pain and the grief
Of all folk who prefer to stay free.
A bondage of unity, sturdy and strong,
No fissures or cracks should we see.
But the voices of dissidents surface at last.
They are guilty of blasphemous shame.
At their nation, which has given so much to the world,
They are pointing their fingers of blame.
“Tis the greed of our country that triggered the blow
That created such chaos and fear.”
The traitorous litany that spews from their mouths
Would defy all that patriots hold dear.
“Back off, stop the killing of innocents now .
The air strikes and bombing must cease.”
Don’t they know that as long as the terrorists live
In the world there can never be peace?
In America only, the land of the free,
Would protesters be given such rights.
To burn and to spit on our national flag
And refuse for their country to fight.
Though their voices are loud and their diatribe fierce,
They form but a tiny minority.
Amidst all the patriots, whose flags fly on high
And to whom honor is a priority.
