A Lesson from a Dream

From a restless dream, I found myself
in an unknown, unfamiliar place.
By thought wave I had travelled far,
through endless time and boundless space.

My departure and arrival times,
together, both  as one were blurred.
No elapse of time had I discerned,
no physical movement had occurred.

The sky seemed much like that on earth,
but no clouds filled the atmopsphere
No pets of any kind were seen,
not one in evidence anywhere

No sun or moon to rise or set,
no living creatures to be found.
I seemed to be here all alone;
no sign of any life around.

No one with whom to share ideas,
no sound of music could be heard.
No one for whom to care or love,
no chirping by a single bird.

There is some wisdom here I find,
a message that this dream should tell--
To live my entire life alone
would be a taste of life in Hell.
